Web Design Process - Six Stages:
At every step, we involve you in the process to ensure you get a site that matches or exceeds your expectations.
Requirements Gathering
We'll ask you what you expect from your new site, what sort of user or customer experience your site should facilitate, what kind of look-and-feel you're after, what the anticipated date of completion is, and how you would like to maintain it. Based on this we'll set to work on a proposal. |
Proposal and Project Planning
After we have settled on the requirements, we set to work figuring out a roadmap for completion. Proper project planning is crucial to success, and we're there for you from start to finish. |
| Initial Concept / Mockups We start the design process with a handful of conceptual designs. From these, we develop more refined designs. For custom programming, this would mean a "proof of concept" - a simple working version of the project. |
Design and Development
We boil the designs down to a few options, and together we decide how the final site should look. This is then implemented in HTML code and/or converted into a CMS template or theme (Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, etc). |
Production
Once we feel the site is ready for public consumption and have tested it internally (including rigorous browser testing), we ask you for the green light to launch it. At this stage we tell the search engines about your site (using XML sitemaps), do a final security check, make sure we have thorough backup procedures in place, and flip the switch. |

Training and Support
Service after the sale is our bread and butter: we are in this for the long haul. Some of our first customers (2003!) are still with us. The first month after your site is live we provide free training and support. If later on you find a bug in something we've built, we'll fix it for free. Of course, every so often new technologies come out and old ones fall into disuse, so your site will need to keep up with that. We provide maintenance and support at hourly rates as well as fixed prices (monthly, quarterly, etc.). |
